Academic Supports/Tutoring
Free Tutoring
Tutoring with certified teachers is offered on Mondays and Thursdays, 3:15-6:15PM, in the Media Center. A Derby High School ID or the Skyward App is required to attend. Students may seek assistance from a teacher, work on homework or make-up coursework. Transportation is offered for current bus riders: 4:45PM pick-up (main student entrance) or 6PM pick-up (weight room entrance).
Pr1me Time
Pr1me Time is built into the daily schedule, serving as a structured time and opportunity for students to do homework or to make-up class work missed due to excused absences. When needed, students may also visit specific teachers for additional academic support beyond the instructional time offered in class.
Peer Mentoring
COACHES Peer Mentoring provides support to students struggling with specific subjects. COACHES are high-achieving, people-oriented students who aid other in subjects in which they excel. COACHES is available during Pr1me Time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Teachers or students may call Room M14 to be connected to a peer mentor.
