The Bell
An annual tradition for new students is to touch the bell to mark their entrance to Derby High School. Upon exiting the building for the final time prior to graduation, seniors ring the bell, symbolizing the completion of high school.

We are proud to share that Derby High School's Panther Pals Program was selected for the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) Conference District Showcase on November 15 in Wichita. Selected districts receive a $250 program donation to support their initiatives.

Congratulations to Derby High School seniors Carson Griffin, Isabella Nikolova and Audrey Thompson on being named National Merit Semifinalists by scoring amongst the top 1% of U.S. high school seniors on the PSAT during their junior year.

District Leadership proudly announced the 2025 Horizon Award nominees, Delaney McWilliams and Olivia Bazanos, and the 2026 Kansas Teacher of the Year nominees, Susan Rogers and Denise Rankin.

We are excited to announce that the Panther Watch volunteer program is expanding to the middle schools. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting the learning environment at Derby Middle School, Derby North Middle School and Derby High School.
