Prom will be May 3, 2025 from 8:00-10:30PM at B-29 Doc Hangar 1788 S. Airport Rd. in Wichita.
The 2025-2026 school year calendar is now available! Please note, each elementary school and Derby High School will begin their school day five minutes earlier next year.
At Derby High School, sophomore Abbee Thompson is known as a determined student, a talented artist and a dedicated leader. But now, she carries a new title—Kansas Military Youth of the Year—an honor that celebrates her commitment to community service, academic excellence and leadership.
The Derby Board of Education recently approved the Fire/EMT Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway, launching at Derby High School next school year.
Class of 2025 graduation is on Sunday, May 18 at 6:30PM. This ceremony will be held at Koch Arena on the Wichita State University Campus.
Congratulations to Derby High School seniors Carson Griffin, Isabella Nikolova and Audrey Thompson on being named National Merit Finalists. These students represent the top 0.5% of U.S. high school seniors.
District Leadership proudly announced the 2025 Horizon Award nominees, Delaney McWilliams and Olivia Bazanos, and the 2026 Kansas Teacher of the Year nominees, Susan Rogers and Denise Rankin.
We are excited to announce that the Panther Watch volunteer program is expanding to the middle schools. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting the learning environment at Derby Middle School, Derby North Middle School and Derby High School.
