Derby High School is offering two driver’s education sessions this summer. Space is limited to 60 participants each session. Applications are available at the Derby High School finance office. Cost is $300.00. Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age and have successfully completed the 9th grade to participate. Refer to the enrollment form for further information. Enrollment will begin Wednesday, March 1st at 8:30 a.m. in the DHS Lecture Hall and continue at the finance office from 8:00a.m.-noon and 1:00p.m.-2:30p.m. Monday–Friday. Deadline to enroll is April 13th unless already full.
The PFS committee reconvened on 2/9 to review feedback and establish the next steps in both short-term and long-term facilities planning within our district. The PFS asked that sub-committees reconvene to determine if there are additional options and do further research regarding school sizes and academic needs to ensure a Facilities Master Plan proposal is developed that reflects community needs while being a good steward of taxpayer dollars. The committee is working on a modified facilities master plan to present to the community at a tentatively scheduled meeting, pending Board of Education direction, on 4/24. The PFS committee is focused on student safety as well as quality educational space and environment for our students. FREE TUTORING - Mondays and Thursdays, 3:15 - 6:15 p.m., DHS Media Center. Students MUST bring their IDs. An activity bus is provided at 4:45 p.m. at the student entrance and at 6:00 p.m. at the weight room entrance for students who need bus transportation. Click HERE for more information.
Graduation for the Class of 2017 will be held at Koch Arena on May 20th at 2:30 p.m.
